Cherish is the owner and master stylist of Crystal Skull Studio. As a licenced cosmetologist and specialized curly specialist for over a decade, the art of creative cutting and craft color is what drives her passion for hair styling. All her life she has had a love for the arts, music and education and sees hair as a means to create. Whether sculpting curls, painting hair, or high fashion cutting, her goal is to help guide through the journey of self expression. 

Cherish started her cosmetology career at 15 years old. Pursuing a vocational program through high school, continuing her education at the prestigious Douglas J Aveda Institute, and graduating with the highest client retention of her class. She established herself working in her hometown of Lansing for 10 years all the while keeping up with continued education and honing in on curly hair, fashion color, and barbering courses. 

When Cherish moved to Ann Arbor she worked downtown in two different celebrated salons specializing in curly hair. Crystal Skull Studio was started 2 years later in Ann Arbor, driven by the idea to connect with local artists and businesses. The need for growth and the vibrant diverse Ypsilanti community pushed her to open a storefront in Historic Depot Town. Developing Crystal Skull as community event coordinator, supporter of small businesses and ally of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC at the root. Cherish is always looking for collaboration with local artists and community collaboration to help maintain the vibrant ecosystem within the city.
